Salaries
Salaries vary greatly depending on a number of criteria. Many firms adjust compensation based on the quality and quantity of previous employment, advanced technical expertise, U.S. expatriate experience, prior work in the industry or function, and other candidate demographics specific to the individual firm. For more detailed information on salaries, search the Salary Stats page. As you plan compensation, keep in mind that Broad starting salaries generally increase each year.
Signing bonuses
A majority of Broad graduates receive a signing bonus. Bonuses help employers to compete for top talent while preserving internal salary equity. Some companies now divide bonus dollars into signing and starting allocations.
Incentives & annual raises
In addition to base salaries, Broad graduates frequently receive compensation in such other forms as stock options, company and personal-performance incentives (in stock or cash), and annual profit-sharing bonuses.
Relocation
Relocation packages vary greatly by organization. Typical packages vary from reimbursement of actual moving expenses to complete coverage of the cost of relocating, including housing for a reasonable period while a new home can be purchased. A lump-sum distribution spent at the candidate’s discretion is also common.
Internship housing
The majority of interns also received a housing allowance in one of the following forms: corporate apartment, housing subsidy (typically 50% or 100% with a cap), travel allowance for candidates commuting from campus, or referrals to local apartments.
